Later this week all of 4th year will undertake the Maths test they have been working towards for the last 2 years. In 3 weeks it will be the 5th and 6th years turn and while they are away doing SQA exams, we usually take the opportunity to test our s1-3 students.

This, like all tests, is a chance for students to show what they know, to reflect upon the success of their learning over the last year and find out what they were missing and make plans for going forward.

Far from a burden it is the chance to show-off their learning get better. I have seen a tremendous amount of work and effort from all students and ability levels. While I wish them all good luck, I have found that for the vast majority the grade is reflective of their efforts which should be a comfort to most.

To help students make the most of revision and study time, here's a lionk to the SQA study resources:

The recent announcements, homework assignments, fun facts and student of the month can all be subscribed to via their RSS feeds but what is an RSS feed you maybe wondering?

RSS is computer jargon but basically it's a tool for you to be informed of updates as and when they happen without needing to constantly check the site.

More information about what they are and how to use them can be found at whatisRSS.com                     Or try clicking the 'RSS feed' here ----->

It is hoped as the website is developed I'll be making this section class specific and give you up dates about the learning taking place. Till then it'll be more general.

The biggest news at the moment is the upcoming exams for which I hope revision is underway. Good luck to all the students taking part.

The second biggest news is I have this new website and the school as a whole is developing a new one too at kgsorkney.com
