John Napier the famous Scottish mathematician accused the Pope of being the Anti-Christ. In one of his books he used prophicies about the apocolypse to try and prove his case.

Presumably, I couldn't find a John Napier High school only a Robert Napier but John Napier famous Scottish Mathematician who invented logarithms thought the pope was the anti-christ.

Actually, I think it was probably less absurd than it sounds. He lived in late 1500's early 1600's and was protesant. I think his work was largely respected as a great work at the time (by protesant authorities). Leave a Reply. | Fun Fact of the Week
